This mid-terrace home, set on a gentle slope, has been thoughtfully reimagined to maximise its available space

dwell design were able to transform this mid-twentieth century Chichester home that has been completely transformed from a poorly planned two-bedroom property into an eco-friendly, three-bedroom home.

dwell design were employed to assist the owner by providing building regulations and tender information and guidance to comply with the Equality Act 2010 for the new restaurant.

With thoughtfully designed roof access, the property now enjoys sweeping sea views, extending to the coast and beyond.

In every aspect of this build, we have prioritised our clients’ lifestyle and wellbeing. The open, airy layouts are designed to invite natural light, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Each outdoor area has been meticulously planned to foster a connection with nature, serving as an extension of the living space. This project harmoniously combines modern sophistication with the home’s inherent character, resulting in a seamless flow between functionality and aesthetic appeal.

This was an energy-saving project for a property originally built in 2014. In 2020, the first owners sought to expand and enhance the home’s performance. We extended both the downstairs and the loft, and completely revamped the heating system by installing a heat pump and electric heating, all powered by solar panels and a house battery. The clients reported a significant decrease in their energy usage, with some months seeing their power consumption drop to less than a third of what it was before the upgrades.

This collaborative effort facilitated a radical transformation of the house while preserving its traditional aesthetic.

This was a house which had a single storey rear extension which was very old so the clients wanted to add:

New upper floor bedroom
New master en suite
Reconnect the house to the garden by installing patio doors to the dining room area

We were appointed to undertake a ground floor side-return extension and internal reconfigurations to a Victorian terrace in Battersea, London.

This central site in a south coast town was developed to planning approval stage with the agreement of the Local Authority.
