The ‘small homes’ trend isn’t always a lifestyle choice, in some instances it’s a necessity. The client here came to us with a piece of land which contained an existing building which was to become the site of their first home.
They took on a lot of the responsibility to deal with items like planning policy, whilst we provided them with the design for a clever home which was big enough for them, without seeming like it swamped the site, which itself was subject to flood plain issues from a nearby estuary.
